How to start a chat on Microsoft Teams
Summary
Microsoft teams allows you to connect and collaborate with people internal to CPS as well as external users who have the Teams client. In this article we will explain how search for and select someone to chat with using Microsoft Teams.
Prerequisites
- Microsoft Teams Account - This will be your CPS email address and password
- Microsoft Teams installed on your computer
Instructions
Step 1: Open up Microsoft Teams
Step 2: At the top of the Teams application, you will find a search bar. Type the name of the person you wish to chat with.
- For internal employees search by name or email
- For people outside of CPS, search for them by email address
- External contacts must have teams and their organization must allow chat with external participant
Step 3: Once the name appears, click on it to open a chat window
Step 4: Start connecting!
