OneNote Tips and Tricks (pt. 2)
Our final May installment of Tech Tip Tuesday contains more tips and tricks for OneNote. We will learn:

Instructions
Tags: tag your notes to organize them as well as to make finding specific information easier.
- To tag notes, highlight the information you want, then navigate to Home > Tags on the OneNote Toolbar
- There are many pre-built tags, but you can also create your own under ‘Customize Tags…’ in that same drop down menu.
- To Search your Notebooks for specific tags, navigate to Home > Tags > Find Tags
Outlook Flags: integrate OneNote with Outlook’s task/flagging system.
- You can select items and flag them so that they show up in Outlook Tasks. Navigate to Home > Tags > Outlook Tasks
- To navigate to Tasks in Outlook, click the clipboard icon at the bottom of your inbox list:
- The completion of these tasks from Outlook will sync with OneNote.
Email to OneNote: email some information to your notebooks automatically when you are in a hurry and don't want to miss a beat.

- Sign in.
- Set your default notebook/location & save.

Email me@onenote.com and it will save it to your notebook.
- The Subject of the email will become the title of the note.
- If you “@subject” in the subject line, you can make the note automatically go to a specific section of your notebook.
Archiving: archive your notes instead of deleting them in case you need them in the future.

While there is no native way to archive in OneNote, you can create your own Archive section in a notebook and move pages or parts of notes to it.
- This is a better way of removing unnecessary sections and notebooks without permanently deleting them in case you need to refer to the in the future.
